Here are some excerpts) Night three of the Benton Invitational Tournament is in the books, and the Benton Rangers are now 3-0 in the tournament and 16-1 on the season as they crossed off another ‘W’ in the score book over the Sesser-Valier Red Devils (8-11), winning 62-52 Friday night at Rich Herrin Gymnasium. & The Rangers were led by Wills, who scored 21 points on the night, 15 of which came in the first half. Wills, who is no stranger to being the Rangers’ leading scorer, has accomplished it twice this week in the B.I.T, having scored 25 points Wednesday night against Hamilton County. Benton Head Coach Ron Winemiller was impressed with how the senior has been playing. “Austin has been playing great this week. He is one of the best catch-and-shoot guys you’ll see in this tournament and that we will see all year,” said Winemiller. &Devils Head Coach Shane Garner was pleased with how his team started the first half, “Our boys played hard; we were down ten at the half, and there were just some offensive boards that went Benton’s way.” The Rangers led by a score of 38-28 going into half time.
