Jack Small – Benton, IL

BENTON — Jack Small, 80, of Benton, IL passed away Wednesday morning, March 1, 2017, in Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.

Mr Small was born in Wheatland, Indiana on Oct. 27, 1936, the son of Ellis Austin and Letha (Tablor) Small.

He married Karen Lee Pond on Aug. 23, 1958, and she survives.

Mr. Small was an Army Veteran serving from 1960 to 1964, where he received his degree as an x-ray technician while in the service.

Mr. Small is survived by his wife, Karen Small of Benton; two daughters, Yvonne Edwards and husband, Bud, of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Gail Lynne Marco and husband, Greg, of Grand Ronde, Oregon; two grandchildren, Jeremy Small of Benton, and Allison Heater of Mount Vernon; five great-grandchildren, Aubrie Sky Small, Gehrig Lee Small, Arabella Kay Rose Small, Austin Ray Maurer, and Gavin Joseph Vincent; two brothers, Larry Austin Small of Terre Haute, Indiana, and John C. Small and wife, Kathy, of Fort Branch, Indiana.

Mr. Small was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Terry Lee Small; and two half brothers, Bill Tablor and Robert Jones.

Services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, in Morton and Johnston Funeral Home in Benton, with Pastors Robert and Kathy Wininger officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
