Rangerettes win nail biter at Carmi-White Co. Friday

Please click on the link for the full story, Here is an excerpt) A challenging early-season schedule is taking a toll on the CWC Lady Bulldogs as their record dropped to 3-3 after a comeback rally fell just short in a 6-5 loss to the Benton Rangerettes on Friday. Benton opened the scoring in the top of the third with a run. CWC struck back with a two-out rally in their half of the inning when Shaelyn Perkins and Morgan Combs reached on hits. Breona Owen was hit by a pitch to fill the bases. Makynna Shaffer followed with an RBI single scoring Perkins, but Combs was thrown out at the plate attempting to score from second base. Benton added two runs in the fourth and a pair in the fifth when the Lady Bulldogs defense was unable to execute a couple of tough defensive chances which would have stopped the rally.
