A friendly public reminder: The City’s recycle bin has been moved to the 900 block of Grand Street, on the east side of the road, just past the Street Department barns. The picture here is of the recycle bin as you’re heading south down Grand Street.
Here’s a list of tips to help when you’re sorting your recyclables:
CARDBOARD AND PAPER RECYCLING-
Cardboard…
Newspaper, Office paper
Magazines, Catalogs, Phone books
Shredded paper, Junk Mail
Manila folders and envelopes
NOT RECYCLABLE-
No Electronics
No Trash, Food Waste
No Styrofoam or Wood
No Glass, Metal, or Plastic in the Paper Mix
GLASS, METAL, AND PLASTIC RECYCLING-
Aluminum and Steel Cans
Glass bottles and Jars, All Colors
Plastic Bottles and Jugs
Pots and Pans, Metal hangers, Aluminum Foil
Metal Items smaller than a Toaster
Plastic bags OK, Metal Lids OK
Leave Labels On, Take Lids Off, Drain Liquids, Rinse Food!
NOT RECYCLABLE-
