According to a news release from ISP, Ashley A. Beck, 31, of Herrin, died in the crash and was pronounced dead on the scene by the Williamson County coroner. Amber A. Mitchell, 26, of Johnston City, also died in the crash. She was pronounced dead at Herrin Hospital. An 11-month-old girl also was riding with Mitchell at the time of the crash, and was treated and released.

The release states that the crash happened just after 1 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 30, on 13th Street at East Herrin Road. According to the release, Beck fled from Herrin police officers in a Jeep Compass and struck a Jeep Liberty driven by Mitche

ISP says the investigation is continuing and it is not releasing any more information at this time.
