Joan R. Wehmeyer, 71, of Thompsonville, passed away 10:05 a.m., on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at Herrin Hospital, surrounded by her family.
She was born on December 21, 1946 to Eugene and Ann (Munis) Ryan in Chicago, IL. Joan retired as a Registered Nurse for Dr. P. Sahni.
Joan was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Joan enjoyed traveling with her husband around the world, road trips with the Corvette Club, going to NHRA races, and reading. She especially enjoyed participating in humanitarian trips to Thailand, distributing school supplies to children.
Joan is survived by her loving husband, Frank; two daughters, Michelle Manalang and husband Stuart Kahler of Marshfield, WI, and Karen Stark and husband Warren of Woodlawn, IL; four sons, Patrick Manalang of Marion, IL, Kevin Manalang and wife Erica of Woburn, MA, Frank Wehmeyer of Paducah, KY, and Aaron Wehmeyer of Odell, IL; twelve Grandchildren, Hayden Richardson, Landon Richardson, Remington Kahler, Wednesday Manalang, Case Manalang, Cody Martin, Wyatt Martin, Dylan Wehmeyer, Sam Wehmeyer, Austin Stark, Taylor Stark, and Morrisa Stark.
She was preceded in death by father, Eugene Ryan, mother, Ann (Munis) Ryan, and sister, Mary Golem.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Pate Funeral Home, Benton, IL.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorials contributions may be made to St. John’s Catholic School in West Frankfort, IL, and donations will be accepted at the funeral home.
