GOING ASTRAY
READ PSALMS 93:1 THROUGH 96:13; ROMANS 1:18–32
The dictionary defines astray as “off the right path or route; in error.” Most people have periods in their lives when they “go astray.” For some, it’s a fleeting misstep and they get back on the right path in no time. But for others, going astray becomes their lifestyle.
“They are a people whose hearts go astray, and they have not known my ways” (Psalm 95:10).
This verse is followed by a verse that pronounce condemnation for this kind of living: “They shall never enter my rest” (Psalm 95:11).
This is not an attractive outcome. The only way to avoid it is to remain steadfast in our faith. We must fix “our eyes on Jesus” (Hebrews 12:2). We must not turn to the right or the left, but continue our journey to Him.
Jesus has blazed the trail by showing how to live in this world.
Prayer Suggestion: Lord, keep me looking to You as I walk the path of life.
