Madlyn Carol McClintock, beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. Madlyn was born in Corinth, Illinois to Alvia and Ruby Sullivan on June 14, 1944; she passed away on September 24, 2020.
She had six brothers and sisters and two of her siblings are still living; Phillip Sullivan of Benton, Illinois and Virginia Dorris of Benton, Illinois. Madlyn met Gerald McClintock, and married him June 30, 1962. They were blissfully married for 29 years until Gerald passed away in 1991. She and Gerald have three sons, Darmon McClintock and his wife Billie of Nags Head, North Carolina, Floyd McClintock and his son Sean of La Vergne, Tennessee and Don McClintock his wife Sheri of Peoria, Arizona and their three children Megan and husband Joshua Vold, Mallory and her fiancé Jacob Geach and Joshua McClintock. After Gerald’s passing, she married Denzyle McClintock in 1994.
Madlyn moved to Arizona to live with her son Don and his family in July of 2011. She spent her time gardening, shopping, being with her dogs, and watching her favorite soap operas. In her years in Arizona she watched her three grandchildren graduate from high school, and then watched her oldest granddaughter Megan marry Joshua Vold in March of 2020. She then celebrated the engagement of her other granddaughter Mallory to Jacob Geach in July of 2020. She was also preparing to celebrate being a Great-Grandmother in 2021. She spoke with her two sons Darmon and Floyd; and her grandson Sean often and loved hearing about each of their lives and everything that they were accomplishing. She was proceeded in death by her two husbands, brother-in-law- Richard (Kurt) McClintock, daughter-in-law; Lisa McClintock, her Parents, and four siblings. She is survived by her sons and their families, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by everyone in the family, and her legacy of love will continue on.
A private service will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 in Glendale, Arizona.
Locally, a Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 2, 2020 at the Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery of Benton, with Pastor Rick McClintock officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. The Leffler Funeral Home of Benton is in charge of the services.
