Floyd E. Mezo – Benton, IL

Floyd E. Mezo, 71, of Benton passed away on Tuesday afternoon February 2, 2021 at his home.

Floyd was born in Kankakee, IL on March 31, 1949, the son of Floyd and Susie Jane (Hungate) Mezo.
Mr. Mezo was a member of the Benton American Legion & VFW Posts. He was a retired carpenter.
Mr. Mezo is survived by two sons, Scott Hefner, and wife Crystal, of Bluford, IL and Larry E. Mezo, of Benton; grandchildren Angel, Clarissa, Kailey, Nathaniel, Daniel, Alex and Tyler; a sister, Brenda Mezo, of Hurst, IL. He also helped raise Joseph Armes, and wife Angela, of Zeigler, IL;

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 5, 2021 at Morton & Johnston Funeral Home in Benton. Burial with Military Rites performed by the Benton American Legion & VFW Posts will be in the Little Springs Cemetery in Thompsonville, IL. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
