Jack Glenn Mutchek – Freeman Spur, IL

Jack Glenn Mutchek, 85, of Freeman Spur, IL, passed away at 12:08 p.m., on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at St. Louis University Hospital in St Louis, MO.

He was born on September 27, 1935, to John and Margaret (Palansek) Mutchek in Orient, IL. Jack worked as a barge worker for Exxon Mobil. On July 11, 1963, he married Christine Null in Mt. Vernon, IL, and she preceded him in death.

Jack was a Veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and gardening. He especially loved spending time with his family and friends.

Jack is survived by his three grandchildren, Christine (Gary) Farina, Larry (Susie) Pool and Kirk Pool; adopted daughter and grandson, Ranetta and Brandon McRill of Freeman Spur; his sister, Margaret Armes; seven great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents , John and Margaret Mutchek, his wife, Christine Mutchek, one daughter, Dorothy Mae Pool, one son, Sam Milazzo, one sister, Shirley Short, and six brothers, John Mutchek, Sam Mutchek, Bill Mutchek, Ed Mutchek, Charles Mutchek and Tom Mutchek.

Services have been entrusted to Pate Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., Benton, IL.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2021, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Pate Funeral Home, Benton, IL.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2021, at 2 p.m. at the Pate Funeral Home, Benton, IL, with the Rev. Virgil Pool and the Rev. Gary Farina, officiating.

Following the service, burial will take place in Denning Cemetery in Orient, IL. Military rites will be performed by the Benton American Legion Post 280, VFW Post 2671 and the United States Army Honor Guard.

Memorials may be made to the Fin and Feather Club in Freeman Spur, IL, and will be accepted at the funeral home.
