Irene Toigo, 91, of Christopher, passed away on Tuesday April 20, 2021 at the Helia Healthcare in Benton, IL.
She was born on July 18, 1929 in DuQuoin, IL to Clyde Rabrum and Pearl (Spann) Vaughn. She married John Toigo JR and he preceded her in death on October 5, 1976.
She is survived by her children Joni (Ed) Perkins of Chrsitopher and John (Lori) Toigo III of Christopher; grandchildren Casey Cavinder, Tracy Cavinder, John Toigo IV, Celeste (Nick) Batts, Sarah (Gene Furlow) Toigo, Jesse Perkins, Jacob (Misty Knight) Perkins and Ethan Perkins; great grandchildren Rylan Perkins, Kynslee Perkins, Madison Perkins, Hayes Batts, Payton Batts, Ivy Furlow, Riley Furlow, Tori Crain and Caleb Furlow.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters Zelma Robbins and Gladys Bannaster and four brothers Lee Vaughn, Rabrum Vaughn Sr., Clem Vaughn and Clyde Vaughn.
Irene was a member of the Christopher-Greenwood United Methodist Church for many years.
Funeral services for Irene will be held on Friday April 23, 2021 at 12:00 PM at the Gilbert Funeral Home in Christopher with Pastor Brett Beasley officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Sesser.
