Christopher John Grutzius, age 53, of Benton, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2023, at his home.
His wishes are to be cremated.
A spaghetti benefit dinner Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, August 26, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Benton American Legion Post#280, 311 South Main Street, Benton, Illinois 62812.
Leffler Funeral Home of Benton; is in charge of the cremation arrangements.
Chris was born on August 25, 1969, the son of John and Sherry (Mace) Grutzius.
He was a former machinist at Franklin Auto of Benton. He later worked for Wal-Mart.
Chris enjoyed cars, bars, cooking; but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his daughter.
He is survived by his loving daughter Kara Grutzius of Thompsonville, Illinois; his three brothers: John Grutzius of Benton, Illinois, Joe Grutzius of Akin, Illinois, Josh Grutzius of Tennessee; his father John Grutzius, and several nieces.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Memorial contributions, in memory of Chris may be made to his family to assist with the cremation expense, and may be payable to the Leffler Funeral Home, 401 East Main Street, Benton, Illinois 62812.
