Yolanda Bial-Corzine, 75, Mulkeytown passed away peacefully on Saturday February 24, 2024 at her home with her loving family by her side.
Yolanda was born on March 22, 1948 at Miner’s Hospital Christopher, Illinois. Growing up Yolanda loved to ride horses with her Dad. She competed in barrel racing and won many awards. After graduating from Christopher Community High School in 1966, she went to Gradwohl Laboratory College in St. Louis, Mo. Where she graduated as a Laboratory Medical Technologist. She started her career at a several local Hospitals and held many different positions including supervisory. Yolanda was member in good standing of the AAB Associate Member Section (AMS) and was a Certified Medical Technologist thru the AAB board of Registry. During her life long career spanning over 50 years, she also acquired a Bachelor of Science in Health care Management from SIU College of Technical Careers. The last 20 years was spent working at Crossroads Community Hospital. This was her favorite laboratory to work in. She loved her co-workers and was still employed there. Aside from being very busy at her laboratory work she also helped her Husband, Dr. James Corzine at their Chiropractic office. She helped to manage the office and Run a lab at the office. She loved to meet and talk to the patients.
In Yolanda’s spare time she Loved to Quilt and has made many beautiful quilts over the years. She loved to present them at the Du Quoin state fair every year.
Yolanda received many ribbons, including the Governor’s Award at the Du Quorn State Fairgrounds for her quilt commemorating WWII Veterans and her father who served his country as a Navy Veteran.
Yolanda is survived by her Loving Husband Dr. James Clayton Corzine, her brother Michael Andrew (Pamela) Bial, sister Regina Bial, nephews Christian Michael Bial all of Mulkeytown and Bryton Slane and son of West Frankfort. She is also survived by many cousins of the Fourez families; cousins, Andras Liptai and Andrea Liptai and families of Egar, Hungary. She is also survived by the Sluzevich and Neal families of Benton and the Gasparini family from Springfield, IL.
She was preceded in death by parents Andrew and Eride Bial of Mulkeytown, Paternal grandparents Joseph and Katalin Tomasik Bial immigrants from Hungary and Maternal grandparents Primo and Caterina Gasparini from Italy. Also she was preceded in death by several Aunts, Uncles, and cousins.
Yolanda wishes were to be laid to rest by her beloved paternal grandparents whom she missed so dearly with a graveside service at Harrison Cemetary Buckner IL with Pastor Donnie Shelton officiating.
