Here is an excerpt) &When the Herrin girls basketball team plays like it did Thursday in the finale of the Mid-Winter Classic, it is very difficult to beat. The Tigers dominated from early on and defeated the host Redbirds, 61-31. Herrin ultimately swept the field at the tournament. Herrin was firing on all cylinders from the tipoff. & “They were knocking shots in from all over and getting second opportunities,” said West Frankfort coach Matt Hampleman. “When Smothers made one off the backboard, we just knew it wasn’t going to be our night. It was just one of those games where it didn’t matter what we did.”…..
