Janice Lee (Overturf) Layne, 67, of West Frankfort, passed away on Thursday September 12, 2024 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.
She was born on October 29, 1956 in Christopher to Carl and LaVaughn (Talley) Overturf. She married Terry Layne on August 25, 2018 and he survives of West Frankfort.
She is also survived by her daughter Michelle (Gary) VanHoorebeke of Benton; granddaughters Sydney VanHoorebeke, Emily VanHoorebeke and Macy VanHoorebeke, one brother Dennis (Karen) Overturf of Springfield, Il and one sister-in-law Rita Overturf of Buckner.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one step-son Terry “TJ” Layne, one sister Karen Overturf and one brother Jerry Overturf.
Janice was the former owner of the City Limits Lounge in Benton before becoming a cook at the Christopher School District. Funeral services for Janice will be on Tuesday September 17, 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Gilbert Funeral Home in Christopher with Rev. Donnie Colson officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Knight Cemetery in Buckner.
